The Royal International Air Tattoo is one of Europe’s largest airshows, and we were proud to provide event catering at RAF Fairford during one of the most challenging weather weekends of the year.
Despite heavy rain and strong winds, the event still delivered an incredible atmosphere — and a huge demand for hot food.
Catering in Challenging Conditions
From setup to service, the weather made things difficult.
Relentless rain meant:
wet equipment
difficult working conditions
constant adjustments throughout the day
But events like this require flexibility, and our team came prepared to adapt.
Keeping Guests Fed with Our Pizza Bus
We brought our Pizza Bus to the event, serving:
large, freshly made pizza slices
hot food ideal for cold, wet conditions
fast service to keep queues moving
In weather like this, warm, reliable food becomes even more important — and demand stayed high throughout the event.
A Busy Event Despite the Weather
Although some aerial displays were affected by the conditions, the event remained well attended.
Visitors still enjoyed:
a wide range of aircraft
flying displays
a full day out for aviation fans and families
Events of this scale continue regardless of conditions, which makes reliable catering essential.
Why Experience Matters at Large Events
Working at major outdoor events means being able to handle:
unpredictable weather
high demand
long service hours
It’s about more than just serving food — it’s about delivering a consistent service no matter the conditions.
