Embarking on the journey from Northampton to Leeds, our bus decided to throw us a curveball—it slipped into limp mode, limiting our speed to a frustrating 45mph. Despite the less-than-ideal start, we pressed on, determined to reach our destination.
Finally arriving at Leeds Festival, we found ourselves nestled in the VIP Glamping area—a cool spot not far from the main festivities. However, our luck seemed to waver as we encountered a hiccup right off the bat: a power trip caused by none other than our tea urn, a vital component for any early morning caffeine fix! It knocked out every light and power socked in the whole of the VIP Glamping zone - somewhat embarrasing.
Thankfully, we quickly improvised and secured a kettle, ensuring that hot beverages were still on the menu, albeit in a slightly less convenient form.
Throughout the festival, our team powered through, serving up breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight snacks to eager festival-goers, including those nursing hangovers from the night before.
Operating event catering almost non-stop for 24 hours a day, exhaustion began to set in, but our dedication to providing top-notch service never wavered.
By the end of the event, our team was beyond exhausted, but the experience was worth every moment. A
s we bid farewell to Leeds Festival 2023, we look forward with anticipation to returning for Leeds 2024—ready to take on whatever challenges and adventures come our way - hopefully none!
